Supported Prowler Bounds.

Not a typical exercise done with a prowler.

BOUNDING FOR YOUNG ATHLETES IS A GREAT SIMULATOR, HOWEVER, HIGHLY TECHNICAL AND DIFFICULT TO TEACH.

 

 

STANDARD SPRINTING INVOLVES A SERIES OF JUMPS FROM ONE FOOT TO THE OTHER.  IN ORDER TO INCREASE STRIDE LENGTH, ATHLETES NEED TO IMPROVE THEIR PUSH OFF.  WHAT IS STRIDE LENGTH?

 

STRIDE LENGTH IS MEASURED BY DETERMINING THE DISTANCE TRAVELED BY YOUR CENTER OF MASS “THE HIPS” DURING ONE RUNNING STRIDE.

 

WHY SUPPORTED BOUNDING:

 

1. Prowler supports the athletes body weight.

2. Allows the athlete who does and does not have enough leg strength to exaggerate the swing phase.

3. Promotes improved stride length.

4. Allows the athlete to apply force into the ground better.

 

IF YOU WANT YOUR ATHLETES TO IMPROVE THEIR SPEED THEY MUST LEARN HOW TO CREATE MORE FORCE INTO THE GROUND.
